This is our old page, if you hold on you will be automatically redirected to our new website.
Birdsong is an organization which has sprung from the consciences and spirits of many women over the years frustrated by the lack of treatment options available to the incest survivor.
We are not an organization of rulers, but of servants, the empowerment of peer involvement within the group coupled with the unparalleled therapeutic value of one survivor sharing with another, their experiences, fears, strengths and dreams are all a part of what makes Birdsong special. Our regular weekly meetings are held Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on the First floor of The New York Academy of Medicine located at E 103rd Street & 5th Avenue in New York City. This is NOT a closed Meeting. Please visit us – new members & walk-in's particularly encouraged
We also have Phone Support hosted by our members 1-877-6Survivor (1-877-678-7848) and offer assistance in providing survivors with referrals to other appropriate support services, including Mental Health, Medical, Housing and other referrals as necessary.
We have many missions here at Birdsong. Certainly to provide a safe place for female survivors of childhood trauma to get the treatment and support they need for optimal quality of life. It is also a major goal of The Birdsong Organization to create a model for bridging the cachsm between trauma and substance abuse treatment approaches. Ultimately it is our goal to continue to expand, educate, empower and protect all children from the long term effects of childhood trauma.
